Teaching Philosophy
"Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts." -Winston Churchill
Education is an ongoing process. It does not stop after an objective is met. We must always be learning new strategies for our students, new classroom ideas, and attend professional development opportunities. These professional development opportunities help us help our students become the best people they can be. I believe that teachers are not only preparing their students for the next grade, or for college, but for life in the real world. By making each lesson relatable to my students' lives, I will help them realize the importance of their education. Through hands-on learning experiences, I will make learning meaningful and fun as we work together to discover our world. I will use differentiated instruction to cater to all of my students with each of their unique learning styles and abilities. Every student is priceless, as is their education.
My classroom expectations will be centered on helping neighbors, and showing kindness and acceptance to all. My classroom projects and rubrics will share a "Responsible Global Citizenship" theme. Throughout this theme, students will recognize and identify the impact of their actions on themselves, their peers, family, school, community, and their world.
